About Citizenship

We realize that our operations are not limited to oil refining and gas processing. We also venture into economic, environmental, and social responsibility aspects. We created the Corporate Social Responsibility Organization (CSR) to implement and coordinate strategically aligned opportunities that positively impact our community, environment, consumers, employees, stakeholders, and the general public. As giving back to society has always been at the forefront of the company’s policy, the citizenship activities will support the four key citizenship pillars of Economy, Community, Knowledge, and Environment and are grouped under two main categories based upon their target audience and purpose.

Internal Citizenship

Internal Citizenship Activities Programs (IC) aim to improve the lives of our employees and their families (e.g., Health Wellness Program, Safety Awareness, and Environmental Stewardship Workshops for employees). Various departments within our company carry out these activities.

External Citizenship

Driven by our belief to make major contributions to the society in which we operate, we founded External Citizenship Activities Programs (EC) to benefit local communities, the general public, and other external stakeholders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They involve a variety of citizenship outreach programs (e.g., philanthropic programs, awareness activities, and traffic safety signature programs). SATORP has started the first phase of its CSR program by creating TORATHUNA, a wholly-owned company, for craft entrepreneurship programs with a mechanism to help artisans and craftsmen to preserve the kingdom’s heritage. SATORP’s CSR initiative (TORATHUNA) was initiated in cooperation with Saudi Commission for Tourism & National Heritage to preserve heritage and antiquities to survive, flourish and sustain for future generations through creating successful local crafts businesses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

External Citizenship Continuity

We support artisans and craftsmen entrepreneurs to have sustainable and successful businesses by providing them with the needed funds, training, development, and tools to nurture and develop their enterprises' businesses. To build a path of communication and collaboration, SATORP signed a memorandum of understanding with Wa'ed Ventures, the Saudi Handicrafts arm of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and the National Heritage (SCTA) Saudi Handicraft Program. Our goal is to partner with the best in the crafts sector. Therefore, our initiative (TORATHUNA) is collaborating with the SCTA to achieve our objective successfully.
